ORGANIZATION: Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council - Intermountain AmeriCorps

Become part of the 2017-18 Intermountain AmeriCorps team! Impact local communities through full-time service with area non-profit organizations, schools, and other educational settings. Intermountain AmeriCorps has placed service-minded individuals in schools and nonprofit organizations throughout North Central Washington since 1993 with the goal of enhancing what they are able to accomplish and strengthening our communities.

Positions are available in the communities of Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Brewster, and Omak. All positions are full-time beginning September 1st, 2017 through July 15th, 2018. AmeriCorps members come from all over the country, so you'll have the chance to serve alongside other diverse, dedicated, and adventurous individuals. Our 20+ member team regularly meets for personal and professional growth trainings and team-led service projects throughout the 10.5 month service term. Be prepared for team development; we believe in creating a meaningful community with networking and support among our AmeriCorps members!

We're looking for passionate individuals who are interested in serving with us in North Central Washington. People join our team for several different reasons - to give back to the community and country, explore the education or non-profit fields, or gain some "real-world experience." You won't get rich by doing AmeriCorps, but the rewards are substantial. Some of the benefits are a monthly stipend ($1202.86 pre-tax), health insurance, student loan deferment/forbearance, and child care (if eligible). Upon completing a term of service, members also earn a $5,815 education award that can be applied to college or student loans. If you're over the age of 55 you can transfer your education award to a child or grandchild.

If you're interested in helping students grow in academic abilities or in helping economically disadvantaged adults work towards a better future, and see yourself on a team of dynamic solution makers, please apply now!

It is also important to our program that our members have a chance to grow professionally and personally. We do this by giving our members the power of choice and decision within our organization.
