If you love music, love researching to make the perfect playlist for someone, then we are looking for you! Arbor Hospice has launched a volunteer based program called, "My Music" which aims to reduce anxiety and create peace for dementia patients. Listening to music can transform a mood and can bring back joyful memories.
How you can help
We are looking for organized, creative volunteers who would work with us during office hours (anytime between 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday) to build our music library and to create playlists for specific patients based on their case histories. We need help to with our musical inventory system and the check-out process. This is a statewide program and you would be collaborating with other volunteer My Music Librarians all over the state.
If you are interested, please apply to be a volunteer online at the Arbor Hospice website. Include in your application that you are interested in the My Music Program.
