No matter who you are, you've got something to offer hospice patients. Typically, the needs are simple: companionship and friendship, emotional support, someone to listen. But the small things you do can make an enormous difference in someone's life.
You can assist patients by reading, writing letter, playing music, just sitting quietly, or giving the care giver a much needed break. We service patients and their families in Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, and Lawrence counties. This flexible location means that there is likely a patient close to you.
Most volunteers commit to only one-two hours a week. The timing is also flexible. This opportunity will let you practice social skills, such as activing listening, empathy, and conversation. It will also give you valuable experience in a health care setting. Both of these look great on a resume.
We look forward to meeting you and including you in our amazing hospice team.
