Join our Long Term Care Ombudsman by providing advocacy services for residents residing in licensed Long-Term care facilities within San Mateo County.

As a Resident Advocate, you will be assisting or assisting in :

  • Protecting the health, safety, dignity and well-being of elder and dependent adults.
  • Creating immediate and positive change in the lives of residents
  • Making unscheduled visits to the long-term care facilities to followup on complaints or provide friendly visits to residents who have no family in the area
  • Monitoring residents' quality of care and quality of life.
  • Investigating and assisting in the resolution of abuse cases (financial, physical, psychological)

Training includes a State Certification.

Description

Our Ombudsmen monitor facilities and receive complaints made by or on behalf of residents. They investigate and work to bring resolution to those complaints. Ombudsmen are state-mandated to investigate all allegations of abuse that occur in the facilities.
