Would you like a volunteer opportunity that has a huge impact on others, helps you develop experience and skills, AND can be done on your own time? Host a Gear Drive for us!

This is a great opportunity that you can do on your own or with friends, use your own creativity to design it as you want, and finish the summer with something cool for your resume!

Basically what you do is decide who you are going to reach out to (team mates, church members, neighbors, etc), tell people what you are collecting, why and where they can drop it off, then bring it to us. We will make sure that what you collect goes to the people in our community who need it most.

We are critically low on the following items:

Men's (size Large and up) coats, windbreakers, jackets, fleece, sweatshirts and hoodies (used)
New Underwear- women's (smaller sizes) and men's (all sizes)
New Socks
Blankets, throws and comforters (used)

We do collect other items. Please visit HomelessGear.org/needs/ for a complete list. Please note that we do not accept clothes like jeans or t-shirts.

Many people host Drives at their workplaces, among family and friends, in their neighborhood, among their club/team members or at their house of worship. It doesn't have to be an elaborate event- sometimes a collection box on your front porch or church yields great results.

Donations (a car load or smaller) can be dropped off at the Murphy Center, 242 Conifer Street Fort Collins between 9 am and 4 pm Monday - Friday. Donations of a larger amount are received at our warehouse by appointment.

If you would be interested in hosting a drive and would like more information, please email pam@homelessgear.org.

Some background information about Homeless Gear and Distribution:

Homeless Gear collects and distributes supplies that people need to survive and meet their basic needs while they are homeless. We are not a clothing bank - our niche is outdoor gear, outerwear, hygiene supplies and non-perishable food. That narrow focus enables us to fulfill our core mission, leverage resources and allow other organizations (e.g. clothing banks) to do what they do best. The one exception to our no-clothing policy is children’s clothes; we distribute basic children’s clothing at our quarterly Children in Need service event.
