There are numerous project sites throughout Mason, Lewis, and Thurston counties that are requesting volutneers to help with yard work. Volunteer Services clients are low-income seniors and adults with disabilities living independently in their own homes. Many folks do not have their own yard supplies and are physically unable to maintain their own yards. This can cause an extreme fall risk for someone who has mobility issues. Have fun getting out in your community, getting your hands dirty, and helping out those in need! Groups are highly encouraged to volunteer for larger scale yard work jobs.

Description
Our program exists as a safety net for low-income elders and people with disabilities (also low-income)by providing them with services that allow them to remain living as independently as possible in their own homes (not assisted living). For example, a 89 year old woman who only collects $600/mo. in Social Security needs help with her lawn. She can't afford to pay someone, and if her lawn goes a couple of months without being mowed, now the lawn is a fire hazard.
