The AARP Foundation and US Hunger (Feeding Children Everywhere's domestic brand) are partnering together for the 4th year in a row to package 500,000 meals for the Memphis community. There will be great music, good fun and a volunteer experience like no other!
Details about our Summer of Service are as follows:
Date: Saturday, July 28
Shift 1: 7:00am-12:30pm
Shift 2: 11:00am-4:40pm
Location: Fed Ex Forum
191 Beale St Memphis, TN 38103
Perks:
- Breakfast or lunch will be provided depending on shift time
- A free T-shirt will be provided to wear the day of the event and keep
- All support team volunteers will receive a take-home goodie bag with bonus gifts!!
We're looking for 80 excited volunteers to help us make this the best event yet!

There is currently a hunger epidemic in the United States that has been magnified by the economic climate. It’s estimated that there are 14 million children that risk going hungry this year in our country. The crisis is evident in the drastic increase of children that rely on free and reduced cost meals in our schools. Many of these kids go hungry at night or even for an entire weekend. Childhood hunger causes devastating effects including stunted educational development.
