Support our Kupuna

Aloha,

Friendly Neighbors program has been in existence for over 20 years providing assistance to kupuna ages 60 and above. We are always welcoming new volunteers who want to dedicate and commit to serving and supporting our kupuna in Waikiki area.

Our volunteers focus on encouraging kupuna to live independent lifestyle, resume daily activities, and to age in place in their own home environment. Volunteers provide assistance with light house chores ( cleaning kitchen/bathroom), light meal preparation, shopping , companionship, respite, scheduling Dr’s appointments, ordering prescription medications from pharmacy and friendly visits/ calls to our kupuna.

Friendly Neighbors is partially funded by the State of Hawaii through the State Executive Office on Aging's Kupuna Care Program administered by the Elderly Affairs Division, City and County of Honolulu.

Email us to schedule an informal meeting to know more!

Once again thank you very much for your interest in assisting our kupuna age in place!

We look forward to your response.

Mahalo and have a good day,

About Waikiki Health

Location:

277 OHUA AVE, HONOLULU, HI 96815, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Waikiki Health is to provide high quality medical and social services that are accessible and affordable for everyone, regardless of ability to pay.

Description

Waikiki Health Center, a private non-profit federally qualified community health center, provides medical and social services to people from all walks of life, representing a broad range of economic levels, cultural backgrounds, and medical needs.

We place special emphasis on serving at-risk, hard to reach populations, such as: Waikiki's runaway, abandoned, and homeless youth; older seniors who are "aging in place"; disadvantaged children who need immunizations and physical exams to enroll in school; the "working poor," who hold several jobs but still lack insurance; the underinsured, who are not covered for the medical services they need; homeless individuals and families; and people with HIV.

The majority of the Center's patients are living at or below federal poverty level, are uninsured or underinsured, and come to us for "safety net" medical care and social services.
