Visual Presentation Producer (Video)

Description of Role:

GROW is looking to scale our programing through a training of educators to deliver our curriculum. The videos created will act as a guide on how to deliver the curriculum. Using pre-recorded voice recordings, the visual presentation producer will design and produce video presentations.

Because this is G.R.O.W.s initial launch of the training program, the ideal candidate will be able to and interested in experimenting with different formats and testing different styles for our beta program. At the bare minimum, we will use PowerPoint to accompany the curriculum, but would prefer using animated presentation software (such as Powtoon) and video editing tools (such as Camtasia). There is the possibility of splitting up the videos between different people. We have a tight window in which we are creating videos. We will be producing from May 31st to June 24 th, so we will need to have someone who is fully committed and highly accountable to the commitment they make.

Roles & Responsibilities may include:

  • Work under the direction of G.R.O.W.’s executive director, in partnership with G.R.O.W. facilitators to develop voice-over presentations that will be used in our online training platform, Train the Trainers program.
  • Manage all aspects of video projects and production activities. Establish and implement an efficient workflow from pre-production through distribution and archival of all video projects.
  • Conceive, design, and produce G.R.O.W.’s video modules. Create effective, well-thought out, and visually dynamic presentations that are on-brand and on-time.
  • Edit voice recordings to make presentations to convey appropriate message.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of animation software, video editing, audio recording, and photo retouching software.
  • Assist the executive director with any other related needs.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding video production and editing skills.
  • Solid project management abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage high-profile projects and prioritize conflicting priorities.
  • Experience working effectively with diverse populations.

Hours Per Week: 10 hours per week or 40 hours per month as needed.

Length of Commitment: 3 months

Impact of not following through will challenge the organization to grow and succeed and therefore I understand that my commitment to fulfilling my roles and responsibilities becomes a binding agreement in good faith.

Mission Statement

Empowering youth to design their futures through self-discovery and career awareness.

Description

Growing Real Opportunities in the Workforce (G.R.O.W.) trains educators to empower their students to align who they are with what they want to do. GROW's curriculum does this by taking students through a fluid process of self-awareness, exploration of careers and the tools for students to be able to achieve their goals. Research has shown that programs that focus on career education and strengths-based self-assessment can help prevent dropouts and increase students’ academic performance. We reach youth at a critical time in their development, embed confidence in their ability to contribute to society, and introduce careers in emerging sectors that most youth are unaware of.

G.R.O.W.’s programs were developed to empower underserved and at-risk youth to take ownership of their education, careers, and futures. We help student identify their internal compass before starting the career preparation process. By doing so students have a clear understanding of WHERE they are headed and WHY.

Caseworkers have told us that our class has transformed students in all aspects of their lives and has deeply impacted their social-emotional development. One student commented that the class "saved her life." Another student said after taking our class he understood for the first time the importance of school and is now engaged in the classroom.

Get involved and help us touch more lives!
