At Suncrest Hospice, we are looking for ordinary folks who want to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of those facing end of life. We provide excellent training and personalized ongoing supervision so that each volunteer feels resourced to give of themselves out of their own gift and skill set. Our hospice volunteers serve patients and family/caregivers under the guidance of the Volunteer Coordinator by visiting a patient(s) for one hour per week in their place of residence. Our patients live throughout Weld and Larimer County, in assisted living, and at skilled nursing facilities. This is a wonderful opportunity to be creative! Some patients enjoy conversation and telling their story, others love to be read to, while others may want a gentle application of lotion to their hands or feet. We encourage our volunteers to bring their own unique set of gifts to each patient relationship. And relationship is what it is all about, developing authentic caring relationships with our patients. Volunteers with special talents and skills are a welcome addition to the team, such as Reike, massage therapy, and pet or music therapy, too! Come and join our team for a life changing experience.
