Volunteers work closely with Bereavement Specialists to provide support for individuals and families dealing with grief and loss. Support is provided for families that have been served by Good Shepherd Hospice and for other community members. Volunteers help with mailings, phone calls and surveys, visits and assistance with grief workshops and
support groups. Additional training is provided.
Be that volunteer that supports those that are grieving. Be that support for someone else.

Description
Hospice is a comprehensive care program for patient's and famlies which emphasizes quality of life and is most effective during the final 6 months of life expectancy.
Hospice is a care system based upon the right of people to know accurately and honestly what is happening to them so they can spend the precious remaining time in the most purposeful and meaningful way consistent with they values and concerns.
