ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Orange County
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are looking for 2 passionate volunteers to provide family caregivers with support and education about dementia, compassion for the challenges of caregiving, and connection to Alzheimer's Orange County for additional support. This Caregiver Support Group is faith-based and is held at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest on the 1st Monday of every month. Volunteer Support Group Facilitators are a vital part of Alzheimer’s Orange County’s (AOC’s) direct services and support for families impacted by dementia. AOC support groups provide participants with the opportunity to gain new coping skills, validate fears and frustrations, learn problem solving tools, and share feelings in a confidential, supportive environment.
An interview, training (provided by AOC), background check, and freedom from potential conflicts of interest are required. Interested candidates are asked for a minimum one year commitment consistently facilitating 1 group meeting a month.
