Help us prepare for GCJ India 2017

We are a small non profit with big dreams. We have had success with our recent GCJ India 2017, built on the legacy of Nigeria 2005, Ghana 2006, Burundi 2007, and Liberia 2010. We are now working on Kashmir/India 2018, so timely in this era of rampant Islamaphobia. Help us evolve our recently-launched word pressed based website and keep it lively by generating blog posts and occasional newsletters using Word Poet. Content will include updates from our various partners - plus resources you may find that are relevant and of service. You will be joining a great team of enthusiastic volunteers. We are dedicated to BEING the change - so we the way we work together is as important to us as the work we do. We invite and treasure the energy and passion of all who join us. We aspire to work in ways that help us each learn and grow, generating new ideas, choice-creating, and transformative - passion, joy, interconnectedness are guiding principles. Help Global Citizen Journey grow into a sustainable organization.

About Global Citizen Journey

Location:

4425 Baker Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create a living network of ongoing cross-cultural exchange that builds understanding, global connectedness and world peace.

Description

Global Citizen Journey is a visionary and action oriented project that will bring vital energy, support and resources to communities in need --and provide a rich transformative experience for volunteers. The project has multiple purposes: citizen diplomacy, peacemaking, leadership building, environmental activism and service. Journeys bring a group of international participants to join with local participants for a three week residential experience, with half the time spent on the work project (such as planting trees) and the other half in circles and workshops to build relationships and develop skills of communication, compassionate listening and conflict resolution as well as cross-cultural and gender relations.
