ORGANIZATION: Asian Counseling and Referral Service

Promote wellness among our Asian Pacific Islander elders by leading art activities

Position Hours: Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:00am - 12:00pm

Requirements: Patience, some teaching experience. Asian language skills a plus. Interested applicant will be asked to conduct one trial lesson with staff observation and submit two samples of artwork.

Age Requirement: 20

Duration Requirement: 4 months

We are currently looking for a motivated volunteer art instructor to teach our elders in club bamboo. We will give you an opportunity to teach your skill or talent in our program. We provide a healthy Asian lunch, a classroom and supplies.

Previous instructors have taught kite making, calligraphy, wire tree art, quilt making, crochet, painting, drawing, sewing and clay works. We would like to offer a variety of classes.

ACRS is the largest multiservice organization serving all the different Asian Pacific American communities - immigrants, refugees and American born - in the Pacific Northwest.
