Rapid City Fire Department

Think about your parents, grandparents, or older adult friends and then join the Rapid City Fire Department (RCFD) Fire Corps to help ensure that older adults remain safe, through an interactive program, 'Remembering When.' 'Remembering When' is a national program run through local fire departments to teach older adults how to prevent two of the greatest dangers to their safety and well-being: residential fires and falling.

In pairs, volunteers will teach one or two 90-minute interactive sessions per month during March, April, and May 2017, at various locations around Rapid City. All materials, training, and mentoring are provided for each volunteer. This is a successful program and is enjoyed by the leaders as well as the participants.

Fire Corps is a volunteer group adjunct to the RCFD Fire & Life SAfety Division, and is managed by both paid and volunteer staff.
