ORGANIZATION: Earth Day Festival

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 9 people are interested

Living with the Earth is the theme for the 18 th annual Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Victory Park (behind the Haggin Museum) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We?re always looking for volunteers! Volunteers are the backbone of this event. If you, a group of friends, your school or organization would like to volunteer, we can use a helping hand with the following:
  • Set up and take down
  • Distribute promotional material prior to the event
  • Staff the Earth Day Festival information booth
  • Provide added staffing for education booths and displays (a great way to learn)
  • Conduct a environmental survey among Festival attendees
  • Assist with children?s activities
  • Work with the stage manager to coordinate the day?s entertainment
  • And much more!

As always, the focus of the day-long event

is to educate the community about taking

care of our natural resources ? earth, air

and water.

Festival planners are looking for schools or teachers whose students are interested in showcasing an environmental display, project or activity. Does your business, non-profit group or civic association have an environmental message you?d like to share with the community?

There will be food, entertainment, information booths, displays, and exhibits regarding stewardship of our environment. Booth fees: $100 - businesses; $50 - for-profit; $25 ? nonprofit; school displays are free. Admission is free.

For more information to sign up as a volunteer or for booth registration, call 937-8791 or check out the website at www.stocktongov.com/mud .
