No human being should be left along during times of serious illness or as they faced the end of life. Yet all too often, people pull away. A Housecall Providers volunteer fills that gap by being a companion who provides compassion, a listening ear, support and caregiver respite. Housecall Providers’ primary care and hospice volunteers become an essential part of the team delivering quality care for patients who are homebound or near the end of their life.
A Housecall Providers volunteer visits homebound people living in the Portland Metro, providing them with meaningful companionship and much-needed respite for their caregivers. You may read a favorite book, run small errands, walk the dog, or help tidy up their home. Perhaps you will simply offer quiet comfort by sitting with them or holding a hand. No matter what, your presence offers reassurance that they are not alone.
About Housecall Providers
Housecall Providers is a nonprofit organization providing primary-care house calls and hospice services to homebound seniors and people with disabilities throughout the Portland metropolitan area.
