How can we help?

The People Helping People program unites high school and collegiate volunteers with local senior citizens in the community. As a consequence of the pandemic our services are executed virtually and over the phone in order to best help the most vulnerable community members - seniors. The seniors we serve are 55+, City of Duarte seniors, and in need of assistance.

We are especially looking for volunteers that have good communication skills, integrity, and having competent skills in visual arts. Our volunteers will have the opportunity assist our community’s seniors through an interactive art activity, called Portraits with Pals - at no cost to them.

Please reach out to Abraham Martinez at the Duarte Senior Center at (626)357-3513 ext.112 or americorpssc@accessduarte.com for any comments, questions, or concerns!
