Encompass Hospice is looking for volunteers in the Durant and surrounding areas. Hospice Volunteers provide support to patients and families within a 50-mile radius.
A variety of opportunities await you, including:
- Companionship to a terminally ill patient
- Caregiver relief to run errands or just get away for a break
- Bereavement, showing your care for those in loss
- Light housekeeping
- Light meal preparation
- Running errands for a patient or the family
- Reading to a patient
- Singing to or with a patient
- Lawn mowing for those who are no longer able
We also offer volunteer opportunities working in our hospice office.

Our compassionate end-of-life care is provided in the patient’s home, whether that is a home address, nursing home, assisted living community, independent living community or other location. It focuses on the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of both the individual patient and our patients’ loved ones: caregivers, spouses, children, extended family and friends.
Description
Encompass Hospice of Durant, OK is looking for kind individuals to help ease burdens of families going through difficult times. Needs vary from patient to patient and sometimes week to week. Once through an orientation, we work with your schedule and effort is made to connect you with the patients closest to you geographically as well. Come on in to our office at 614 N. Washington in Durant so we can get you on our volunteer list and then YOU choose what you do after that. It's a wonderful way to make a difference!
