Make that special connection with a veteran at the end of life with your visit(s). We are looking for a few good men and women who have served our country in the military and who can understand and honor the service of others given earlier in their life. We are loosing the last of our WWII and Korean War vets every day and the significance of their individual service has often gone unrecognized. Additionally, our Vietnam vets were never shown respect for their service and sacrifices and are now facing the last of their days. You do not have to have had wartime experience to begin to apppreciate some of what these vets had given up or had to do in order to serve our country here and overseas.

Visits are often less than an hour and are flexible to work with your schedule, typically 1-4 times a month. We provide the orientation and training necessary once a volunteer is fully screened, with background, drug, TB and reference checks - at our expense.

We care for patients around the metro area, where ever they call home: skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and in private homes. While we are a not-for-profit, faith-based hospice, we serve people of all faiths and beliefs and those without. We believe in companioning those in this sacred passage, with grace and respect to help them live as many days possible with meaning and in comfort according to their wishes. Give the gift of honor and respect for our soldiers who have become isolated at the end of their life with your presence.

Mission Statement

We serve our families and one another as humble servants no matter what religion, ethnicity or culture. Our mission is rooted in the Christian heritage of the Covenant Church and has been about promoting and helping people achieve maximum well-being. Hospice of Covenant Care is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring and serving that emphasizes comfort, companionship and dignity both for the patient and the family and/or friends. Our underlying values include respect for every person, the dignity of all people, and fairness and justice as expressed by the Golden Rule.

Description

We are a young, not-for-profit, faith-based hospice serving families of all faiths and backgrounds in the Denver Metro area. Through our services we support those facing a life-limiting illness, while embracing the wholeness of their life with Grace and Love. We do this with exceptional care, compassion and with a focus on respect and dignity. We are not a place (we go to where ever the client lives) but a comprehensive care provider meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the family. While we are experts in physical comfort measures, we aim to help our patients and families live the best possible lives, according to their wishes, until the end. We are not too big to facilitate meaningful time and enriched lives for our families.
