Our Friendly Visitor Program is a volunteer program offered by the SC Long Term Care Ombudsman office, and advocates for empowerment and rights of those living in nursing facilities and assisted living communities. After receiving training, you would choose one of the communities within the four counties, and visit regularly with residents.

Many residents may not have family and friends nearby, and this offers them a chance to chat, visit and socialize with a cheerful person who has a heart for this kind of work. Friendly Visitors provide encuragement and assist the residents in achieving a sense of self-determination. Friendly Visitors also serve as liaisons working with residents and staff to ensure that residents'needs are being communicated and addressed.

Make a differene in someone's life! Become a Volunteer Friendly Visitor and see the impact you can have on our most vulnerable adults.
