Part of helping elderly people stay independent in their homes is ensuring that they're able to keep up with minor home maintenance and repair issues when they're no longer able to do tasks on their own. If you have a couple hours per week once or more a month to help a senior neighbor on St Paul's East side with chores or repairs to maintain their home and keep it safe, we could use your help! If you're able to install a railing, get on a ladder to change a light bulb, or help with changing storm windows, you're promoting seniors' ability to safely remain in their homes and part of their community.

Mission Statement

We provide professional and volunteer services that promote the ability of East Side seniors to remain independent in their homes while delaying or avoiding the need for them to move to long-term care.

Description

Our staff of two and a group of dedicated volunteers promote the health and well-being of seniors in the District 1 area of St Paul's East side. We meet seniors in their homes and determine what barriers they might face to being able to live independently and safefly. Through addressing their needs for assistance with chores, transportation, access to resources, and service coordination, we are able to fill in the gaps and provide individualized assistance that help them stay healthy and continue to live on their own in their home. Because we use a neighbors helping neighbors model, we strengthen ties throughout the community we serve.
