Our program helps seniors stay independent in their homes as long as possible. One of the main needs for seniors who can no longer drive is a way to shop, especially if they enjoy picking out their own groceries and socializing. We need volunteers who can take elders from St Paul's Conway, Battle Creek and Highwood Hills neighborhood (the East side) grocery shopping or to Target, Wal-Mart, or other stores in the community. Times and scheduling could be flexible -- just knowing that they have the opportunity to get out a couple times a month could greatly improve a senior's ability to stay involved in the community and improve their quality of life. Share your shopping experience and make a seniors's day!

Mission Statement
We provide professional and volunteer services that promote the ability of East Side seniors to remain independent in their homes while delaying or avoiding the need for them to move to long-term care.
Description
Our staff of two and a group of dedicated volunteers promote the health and well-being of seniors in the District 1 area of St Paul's East side. We meet seniors in their homes and determine what barriers they might face to being able to live independently and safefly. Through addressing their needs for assistance with chores, transportation, access to resources, and service coordination, we are able to fill in the gaps and provide individualized assistance that help them stay healthy and continue to live on their own in their home. Because we use a neighbors helping neighbors model, we strengthen ties throughout the community we serve.
