Childcare Volunteer
Do you want to help our Young Moms make the most of our programming? As a Childcare Volunteer, you’ll provide our Young Mom’s children with a safe space to play while their parent is working to complete credits needed to graduate, learning parenting skills, financial literacy, what to expect in pregnancy and more. Childcare Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and have at least one year of experience working with children under the age of 3. Ideal volunteers are friendly, responsible, self-starters that aren’t afraid to change a diaper. The YWR is seeking several new childcare volunteers to cover shifts from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm or 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, or 10:00 am to 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Scheduling is flexible. This volunteer opportunity is not available for short term volunteers (at least a 3 month commitment is required), or large groups. These guidelines help our clients build trust, familiarity, and relationships with their volunteers. An interviews and background check is required for this position. To learn more or request an application please contact the YWRC at ywrc@ywrc.org or at 515-244-4901.
