The Run the World 5K is a dusk run at 7:30pm during the Americana World Festival and will be on an open course through Iroquois Park.

All proceeds from the race support Americana Community Center’s Summer Youth Program, serving more than 200 refugee and immigrant children for 7 weeks during the summer. This program is crucial to preventing summer learning loss in engaging ways by participating in arts, recreation, gardening, and STEM activities and going on weekly field trips around the community.

Description

The Americana Community Center is located in the South End of Louisville. The South End has a large concentration of varied ethnic groups, with 26 different languages spoken. The Americana Community Center exists to be responsive to the needs of the diverse community by providing language and family based services to refugees, immigrants and other U.S. born citizens.
