Mission Statement

The Reality - Every day, we read about individuals pleading for help to overcome violence and other blight in their worlds. These calls only confirm the increases in violence, harassment, and intimidation reported daily in newspapers and research surveys. Bullies, predators, gangs, con-men, vagrants and others in increasing numbers, are creating fear and danger in our communities. The perpetrators lurk in schools, neighborhoods, streets, alleyways and the Internet. The Goal - To motivate all citizens including teachers, parents and children to create a safer, more powerful future through programs focused on personal safety, civic contribution, value development and cyber security. To bring violence prevention programs to schools for the benefit of students, families, and teachers. To serve as a resource for training teachers in violence prevention at institutions of higher learning.

Description

San Pedro Citizen Guard, Inc. is a nonprofit all volunteer organization made up of dedicated individuals who generously donate their time and energy to help protect the San Pedro community.

A unique feature of the San Pedro Citizen Guard's approach is the group’s inclusion of community members of all ages and backgrounds.

This diversification makes our community stronger by involving citizens as part of the solution rather than casting them as simple bystanders with no power to act. San Pedro Citizen Guard empowers our citizens to take pride in their communities and contribute to the safety of their neighborhoods.
