For this one-day event, you will support exploration of riparian and grassland ecosystems throughout Sondermann Park in Colorado Springs as part of the nationwide BioBlitz. A BioBlitz is an event in which teams of volunteer scientists, families, students, educators, and community members work together to find and identify as many species as possible of plants, animals, microbes, fungi, and other organisms in a specific geographic location.
Assist With:
- Registration
- Reporting station monitoring
- Equipment check-out and check-in
- Scientist support
- Introduction of visitors to iNaturalist app
- Photography
- Social media
- Facility maintenance
- Parking
Qualifications:
- At least 16 years of age
- Passion for the environment and being outside
- Curiosity
- Must sign a release form
