Council on Aging in Union County has a need for individuals and groups of volunteers to complete yard work & minor home safety repairs for seniors who cannot safely complete the work themselves.
Yard work includes raking leaves, trimming hedges, mowing lawns, cleaning gutters, weed-eating, gardening, etc., depending on the need of the homeowner.
Home repairs include installing handrails & grab bars, building wheelchair ramps, checking smoke detectors, changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing leaks, etc.
This is a great opportunity for employers, civic groups, churches, and other groups to complete a team-building project!
Volunteer dates/times are flexible! Our volunteers are able to pick a day thatnbest fits into their schedule and we can arrange projects on the selected day, or we can contact you with projects which can be scheduled at your convenience.
If you are interested in supporting our mission to help older adults remain safely in their homes, we would be delighted to work with you! We have job requests of all sizes throughout Union County. Grab a group of friends or work individually to help a senior in your community!
