Artists Helping Children is a non-profit dedicated to bringing comfort to children in hospitals, clinics, and shelters by brightening their environment with murals and other art. We need Artists in the NYC Area to paint at Mount Sanai Hospital Mount Sinai is located on 5th avenue between 98th street and 101st street in Manhattan...(NYC). They have an organization called the Child Life program, at the Krazner clinic for children. There are a lot of walls to brighten up - and we need the help of as many NYC artists as we can find. If you would like to join a team of artists and help sick children heal in a friendly environment, then get in touch with me as soon as possible so I can get your information to our group leader - Didi. WHY ARTISTS HELPING CHILDREN PAINTS MURALS IN HOSPITALS: Instead of children having to visit a sterile and uninviting hospital, we ease their fear and pain with walls full of colorful and silly characters. Many children cry and try to run away from doctors, but when children visit a hospital that has inviting, colorful murals on the walls, the inviting environment immediately welcomes them. Instead of shedding tears, children run to the painted walls with delight and laughter, pointing out the funny bear or the orange cat. In effect, the child's fear and pain dwindles away while their attention is refocused on the art. I can't wait to hear from you all!!!
