Help United South End Settlements (USES) and the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) distribute over 200 bags of groceries to low-income senior community members!
What: GBFB's Commodity Supplemental Food Program
When: every third Wednesday of the month from 9:15AM - 12PM
The majority of program participants are Mandarin or Cantonese speakers. We need bilingual English and Mandarin or Cantonese speaking volunteers to translate. Volunteers will also support with unloading and distributing the bags of groceries which requires some heavylifting (35 lbs) and extended periods of standing.
Volunteers are also needed to make follow up calls on the two days after the distribution for the seniors who weren't able to make it the day-of.

Mission Statement
USES's mission is to harness the power of our diverse community to disrupt the cycle of poverty for children and their families. We believe that as families stabilize through access to increased resources, become more resilient, and build a diverse network of relationships, they and their children are more likely to develop the skills they need to succeed and break the cycle of poverty.
Description
We have created a bold new model designed to equip children and their families with economic mobility and social capital. Our programs align to our renewed mission that leads to profound, "whole family" impact. As families stabilize and take advantage of opportunities for advancement, they are connecting to an inclusive community that is investing social capital and uniting for the success of all.
Coaching: Coaching is a supportive partnership that empowers participants with the tools to find solutions and move their families forward.
Early Childhood Education: USES’ Early Childhood Education program prepares each child emotionally, academically, and physically to succeed in kindergarten.
club48: club48 provides high-quality services with curricula that support school success and promote the social, cognitive, and emotional development of the students.
Camp Hale: Established in 1900, Camp Hale operates on the belief that all youth, particularly those from urban environments, will benefit from challenging opportunities for physical, mental, and social growth and development.
Training for Office Jobs: USES’ job training program ensures that our neighbors have the education and opportunities they need to move toward economic self-sufficiency.
