Picture it. Your unique story, your gift of time, your willingness to "be there", matched with a highly motivated and capable teen who is ending the cycle of poverty in their family. Together, you’ll change the course of history for one person, one family, one community. Interested? Join us at Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado, where you can truly make that kind of impact.

As a Boys Hope Girls Hope mentor, you’ll share your time, knowledge and expertise with a child who may never before have had a caring adult take a personal interest in them. During your one-year commitment as a mentor with Boys Hope Girls Hope, you’ll have plenty of support along the way, through orientations, mentor training, and ongoing staff support.

Our group mentoring sessions will be literary focused this year. Mentors and their groups of scholars will read and work together on a book chosen from their required list, taking a literary journey together. In groups of five to six, mentors and scholars will increase their literary skills while learning value lessons and reaching important goals.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.

Description

At BHGHCO, education is seen as the key to self-sufficiency and college is the avenue towards a career for a stable future. For over 25 years, BHGHCO has been providing a pathway to a successful future for young people who have the ambition and determination to achieve a college education and a life of service but do not have the supports to reach this goal. We believe that motivated children can overcome significant barriers and develop their inherent talents when engaged in strong relationships and opportunities for academic and character development. By opening a doorway of opportunity for these young scholars through year-round college-preparatory supports, they are able to thrive in an environment that empowers them and allows them to develop their life skills and strengths.
