ORGANIZATION: Avalon Housing

ASP Fun

Working with Avalon's Youth Development Program is a great way to gain valuable experience in the fields of education and social work. This is a great way to strengthen our community as well as building your resume and experiences.

It's time for Summer! Join SPY to mentor youth in K-8th grade and have fun creating a fun, positive and memorable summer experience for our youth! We can't do this without dedicated community volunteers that enjoy working with kids!!!

Most of our youth have experienced homelessness before they are even finished with Elementary School. As part of our commitment to provide stable housing, build community and improve the overall quality of life for our families, Avalon offers a Summer Program for Youth over 8 weeks in the summer at our Carrot Way and Pauline Community Centers!

The program needs volunteer assistance Monday through Thursday from 11:45 to 4:15 PM. We provide meals, snacks, activities and games and academic enrichment. You could be part of making summer memories that last a lifetime while supporting a program that helps 80+ families who have experienced homelessness.

This Volunteer Position would report to either our Carrot Way (by Food Gatherers) or Pauline (by the Big House) properties and work directly with one of our Youth and Community Organizers. For more information, please call or email Andrea at awilkerson@avalonhousing.org 734.864.2295
