AccentCare Hospice patients would benefit from your companionship and supportive presence at the end of their lives. Vigil Volunteers are specially trained to support our patients (and sometimes the families as well) by holding their hand, providing reassurance, placing a cool washcloth on their forehead, creating a peaceful environment through music/aromatherapy, and offering support throughout their transition. Vigil volunteers are asked to provide companionship in the days, hours, or moments before the end of a patient's life. We are seeking caring and compassionate volunteers for this special assignment.
Vigil Volunteers are needed to visit patients wherever they call home located throughout Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, & Somerset Counties.
