55 years old or better? Visit a senior for 2 hours once a week. Help seniors live in their own homes for as long as possible. To avoid depression, all a homebound senior may need is to talk to someone. The short time you will spend with a senior means a lot to them and your help may prevent seniors from living in an assisted living facility or be prematurely institutionalized.
Other volunteer opportunities:
1. Meal delivery once a week
2. Friendly calls
3. Laundry help
4. Respite - give a caregiver a 2 hour break a week
6.Transportation - need drivers license
7. Grocery shopping - needs driver's license

Description
Make a Difference in Your Community!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
