The Food Security Network (FSN) was created to secure a food income for our homebound and mobility impaired neighbors in the Richmond Distrcit. FSN partners with the SF-Marin Food Bank and local volunteers to provide free groceries for those in need. Our volunteers make a weekly 20 minute commitment to pick up a bag of groceries from the RDNC and deliver it to a nearby neighbor.
This oppurtunity is ongoing, with just a 20-30 minute commitment each Tuesday or Thursday! This is a great oppurunity for working adults, people looking to meet thier neighbors, or for a volunteer experince the whole family can be a part of.
Grocery pick up is from 3:00-6:00 pm every Tuesday out of Lafayette Elementary School and from 2:30pm to 6:30pm every Thursday out of the RDNC. Food can be delivered at your own convience to recipients who are matched individually after an orientation.
We hope you join our team of wonderful and dedicated volunteers!!
To get involved or find out more about the RDNC's food security programing, please email idalia@rdnc.org
