Do you enjoy working with children and their families? Do you love to play? Discovery Lab is the perfect place for you to volunteer. Spend your time inspiring families to play and learn together while facilitating our exhibit halls. Our facility is high energy and full of fun. Volunteers will answer exhibit related questions, guide families in The WorkShop or help prepare materials for our programs and classes. You will also have many opportunities to play! We are open 7 days week, which allows us to find a time that works with your schedule.
**A background check is required for all volunteers 18 years old and older.
**All volunteers will need to submit a volunteer application found on the museum's website.

Description
Discovery Lab is an educational resource for Tulsa providing outreach museum classes to area schools and organizations, and as a field trip destination to over 20,000 students each year. Exhibits and programming encourage the development of executive function and process skills, including critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Educational content focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), and health and wellness, and complements and supplements current school curriculum. Studies show that hands-on, informal learning experiences, like those delivered by Discovery Lab, impact reading readiness and school success.
