Volunteers will plan and facilitate End of Book parties hosted at the Orlando Public Library every 6 to 8 weeks that rewards Mayor Buddy’s Book Club members after they’ve completed a book. This is a great opportunity for groups! MBBC Party Planners help plan crafts and games, secure prizes for MBBC End of Book Parties, and facilitate and organize the event the day of. Tasks include set-up and break-down, food table preparation, craft assistance, leading games, check-in table and registration, giving-out prizes and more. Party helpers should be flexible and ready to have fun!

Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation
- Must be passionate about reading
- Must be comfortable working with students 8-14 years old
- Attend volunteer orientation/training
- Must be of 18 years of age and over
- Must pass criminal background check

Description
Through ORLANDO CARES, we engage volunteers in 6 unique programs that help Central Florida youth improve their academic success, increase their literacy skills, plan viable career choices and avoid the juvenile justice system. ORLANDO CARES created volunteer opportunities that impact educational outcomes and contribute to the well-being of our community.
Orlando Cares volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer, fill out a City of Orlando volunteer application, and attend a one-hour training session to be scheduled with a Volunteer Coordinator.
