Just Sing!

The Heartland Blue Scrubs is group of Heartland Hospice Volunteers that spends 45 minutes every Thursday night singing in an assisted living or a skilled nursing facility or adult foster care homes right around the end of their dinner hour. You DON'T need a singing voice (that's why we're called the Blue Scrubs) and you DON'T need to be available every Thursday. Like Queen? Adore Sinatra? How about Motown?

If you're interesting in singing on your own or aren't available on Thursdays, you can sign up to volunteer. You can decide what days and times to sing your heart out.

If interested, please call Kristen at (517) 244-0404.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter. A strong component Heartland's team approach to hospice care is our volunteer program that offers human-to-human enrichment to the patient and the patient's family in providing this hospice benefit.

Description

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.
