Bring a smile to someone who needs you. Volunteer for hospice and find out what joy you can bring to someone's life. Whether you want to read, play cards, scrapbook, talk or pray or just watch TV. Your presence in the life of one of our wonderful patients will also bring you a meaningful experience.
You can also provide respite for a Caregiver that provides 24/7 attention to a spouse or other loved one. Sit with the patient so the Caregiver can run an errand or simply visit a friend.
We will provide you a full orientation before being with a patient. The majority of our patients are elderly, if you love to talk to seniors and love hearing their stories, please consider joining our team today.
Not sure if you want to sit with a hospice patient but you'd like to help? Plan to be creative on our patients' behalf: make cards, create "fidget" blankets/pads for our Alzheimers patients. Use your talent and creativity to make gifts that will be appreciated by those who might be bed bound and bored.
Or, work in our office doing administrative tasks and data entry.

The goal is to improve the quality of a person's life through pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support. We believe that the patient and family are intergral decision making members of the hospice team in planning and receiving care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death, but assists the patient and family in living with a life-limiting illness. Hospice regards dying as a normal process at life's end in which we can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and loved ones.
Description
Haven Hospice reaches it's goal of supporting the patient and their families through several various disciplines. Our doctors, nurses, CNA's, social workers, chaplains, volunteers and community educators make up our caring team of individuals who know how important hospice is to not only the patient, but to the entire family.
