Every second (2nd) Thursday of each month volunteers are needed to load the food truck, drive, and serve a prepared meal from the Nashville Food Project to the residents of John Glen Apartments in North Nashville from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The TNFP food truck services a residential center for low-income seniors in North Nashville.
North Nashville is identified as a "food desert", and area where there is little or no access to healthy, affordable food. Food deserts disproportionally affect socially segregated groups such as elderly people living in underprivileged urban neighborhoods.
