Volunteer Your Way to a Great Day!
Help a person who is legally blind to manage their paper, mail and official documents. You will be a help and you can make a new friend too!

On May 16, 1981 - "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes hit #1 and stayed there for the next 9 weeks! I can't promise you Bette Davis Eyes but I can tell you that a wonderful new friend is waiting to meet you!

BESB volunteers make a difference with just 4 to 6 hours per month!
How are they spending that time... going to art shows and museums, (lots of legally blind folks still maintain usable vision-so yes, art, theatre and museums are on the table). Others are taking dance lessons in preparation for a 'dancing with the stars' type fundraiser, some are going for guided walks, having coffee, visiting the Meriden Daffodil Festival, making websites, Goin' Fishin' at the Visually Impaired Persons Fishing Tournament, shopping for shoes, new dresses or groceries.

Really, it doesn't matter what the activity is, what is important is that you and others are reaching out to a neighbor, doing some good and making a new friend. A BIG BESB thank you to them all.

Let's Get YOU Started!

If you are not a part of this magic, there is time right now to get it done in less than 10 minutes. Fill out the attached application today - a fully complete application can have you started within 10 days or less.

Still not convinced... call me at 860-602-4129 and we can chat about it. Your new friend is waiting for you!
