The Arts of Life is a community of artists with and without disabilities working together to realize our full potential. We are currently seeking Artist Mentors/Studio Assistants. This volunteer/intern position is vital to our community and is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant, creative group of adult artists.
As an Artist Mentor/Studio Assistant, you'll be asked to:
- Bring new, creative, ideas to the studio.
- Supervise and assist our artists in the art making of their choice.
- Give artists technical assistance related to their projects.
- Provide daily documentation on each artist.
- Support artists in lunch preparation, eating, and clean up.
- Teach and assist artists in cleaning up their workstations.
- Support artists in maintaining their supplies and work area.
- Keep the studio clean and in good repair.
You may also be asked to assist in stretching canvas and matting, framing, and hanging work.
As an Artist Mentor/Studio Assistant, we require that you:
- Show consistent excellence in your job performance.
- Be prompt and reliable.
- Be able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision.
- Work in a spirit of mutual cooperation.
- Show initiative, dedication, and creativity.
- Have a consistently positive and flexible attitude.
- Be able to assist all individuals served by Arts to Life, Inc. studio.
Our studio hours are 9am-3pm Monday through Friday. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in serving during these times for at least 3 hours or more each week. There may also be additional opportunities to help out with special events on evenings and weekends (days and time will vary).
