We Are Looking to Add some Volunteers to the team ASAP, just in time for Orientation. Please call the office. Start in August if you are a perfect match.

Nurses Plus Hopsice is looking for volunteers to spend time with our patients and their families - getting to know them and be present in each other's companionship. Once the volunteer and patient are comfortable with each other, volunteers can facilitate a senior with a life-limiting condition in telling their story.

What this consists of is a lot of listening, engaging them by asking open ended questions, capturing the interactions on film, photography, pen and paper which ultimately results in a memoir written and composed by the volunteer.

We call this a LifeBook, something a patient can leave behind that celebrates their life and accomplishments. This journal would be an item the family can keep with them always and share the story of the life the patient lived with each generation.
