Mission Statement

The organization's primary exempt purpose is: To establish health programs on research, screening, and education for Lead Poisoning and Prevention, and the reduction or elimination of Lead exposure to families living in developing countries.

Description

Programs

  1. c.) Friends of Lead Free Children had manufactured in New Jersey a special prenatal supplement especially formulated for "high risk" pregnant women living in the Dominican Republic. Over 3.5 million pills were picked up and shipped to that country to be given freely to health clinics which provide services to the poorer communities of that country.
  2. a.) Friends of Lead Free Children, working in collaboration with University Autonoma de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, organized a two-day conference in Santo Domingo. This conference was held July 24 and 25, 2003 and was attended by over 800 government and private professionals working in the health care industry of that country. The theme of the conference was "Having Healthier Babies by Understanding Your Environment".
  3. b.) Organized a Children's Health Festival in Upper Manhattan. On September 9, 2003 Friends of Lead Free Children managed the largest Latino family event in NYC region. All the major health providers attended as well as government agencies targeting health services to the Latino community. All the rides and games were free to children as well as popcorn and candy cotton and more.
