Mission Statement
The mission of the Wildlife Conservation Society, since its founding in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society, has been to save wildlife and inspire people to care about our natural heritage. We are working to make future generations inheritors, not just surviviors.
Description
The Central Park Zoo is operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society, which also operates: The Bronx Zoo, The New York Aquarium, The Queens Zoo and The Prospect Zoo. WCS has the world's leading international conservation program working in 52 nations to save wildlife and wild places.
