Mission Statement
The World Library Partnership, Inc. (WLP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building global understanding by promoting literacy, learning and access to information. WLP believes that libraries empower individuals and enrich communities. WLP advocates for sustainable, community-based libraries in developing areas of the world. By supporting libraries and librarians, WLP mobilizes the power of information to make the world a better place for all.
Description
WLP places volunteers from around the world at libraries and schools in South Africa. We provide African libraries with funds to purchase books. We offer librarian and information literacy training to organizations and individuals. Finally, we publish film and print resources for libraries in developing countries.
