The Red Cross and VolunteerMatch Partnership

VolunteerMatch partners with the Red Cross to help all 800+ local units nationwide recruit volunteers more effectively. Channeling new volunteers to local units is vital in addressing specific needs and building capacity.

"The selfless efforts of Red Cross volunteers everywhere demonstrate the impact we can make as individuals," said Deborah Dinkelacker, president of VolunteerMatch. "We are honored to apply the VolunteerMatch technology toward helping the Red Cross fulfill its mission of caring for those in need."

Volunteer Today

The Red Cross, well-known for its disaster relief efforts, offers a wide range of other services. These include helping U.S. military personnel stay connected with their families, health and safety classes, blood donations, and much more.

Whether you join a Disaster Action Team or serve as a Blood Drive Coordinator, there are many ways to help the Red Cross. Their volunteer needs are diverse and have included roles in event coordination, telephone support, and board membership for a local unit.

About the Red Cross

For the past 125 years, the Red Cross has helped people help their neighbors in communities nationwide. Last year, victims of a record 72,883 disasters, most of them fires, turned to the more than 1 million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross for help and hope.

The Red Cross is the largest humanitarian organization in the United States and relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work.
